Konstantinos Fokianos completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Ioannina (B.Sc. in Mathematics, 1991) and postgraduate studies at the University of Maryland, USA (M.A., 1993 and Ph.D. in Statistics, 1996). He has taught at Ohio State University, USA (Visiting Assistant Professor), at the University of Cyprus (Lecturer, 1999–2001; Assistant Professor, 2001–2006; Associate Professor, 2006–2011; and Professor since 2012), and at Lancaster University (2018–2020). He has held visiting positions at Ludwig Maximilian University, the National Institutes of Health, EPFL, Cergy-Pontoise University, the University of Bergen, TU Dortmund, Tor Vergata University of Rome, and Columbia University.

He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), an elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), and a member of the editorial boards of International Statistical Review, Statistical Modeling, and two Springer Book Series. His research focuses on time series analysis, particularly modelling and inference for univariate and multivariate integer-valued time series models.
